The instant allergy relief ritual - tea, acupressure, compresses
🌸 The wisdom of the old masters
In TCM there is no word for „allergy“. The old masters saw something else: they saw Wind, that penetrates the body. Wind that irritates the eyes, clogs the nose, fogs the head.
But wind can only get in if the gates are open.
These gates are yours Wei-Qi - your protective shield on the surface of the body. If the Wei-Qi is strong, the wind bounces off. If it is weak, it penetrates and causes chaos.
The old masters knew that you don't fight the wind. You strengthen the walls.
This ritual does both - it relieves acute symptoms AND builds up your protection.
🛡️ What is the Allergy Instant Help Ritual?
A holistic 3-step system from TCM:
Level 1: A tea that cools and clarifies from the inside
Level 2: Acupressure points that provide immediate relief
Level 3: Compresses that soothe irritated eyes
No medication. No side effects. Just ancient knowledge - applied in a new way.
The best: You already have everything you need at home (or can get it in the supermarket). And you'll feel the effect immediately.
☕ The tea: chrysanthemum goji infusion
Ingredients (for 1 cup):
- 5-6 dried chrysanthemum flowers (Ju Hua)
- 1 tbsp goji berries (provide natural sweetness - honey is usually not necessary)
- 300 ml hot water (approx. 80°C - not boiling)
- Optional: 1/2 tsp regional honey if you like it sweeter
Preparation:
1. infusion: Place the chrysanthemums and goji berries in a cup. Pour hot water over them - not boiling, otherwise the flowers will become bitter.
2. allow to pull: Leave to infuse for 5-8 minutes. The flowers open and the goji berries swell.
3. enjoy: Drink slowly. You can also eat the goji berries - they are soft and sweet.
4. refill: You can infuse the same flowers and berries 2-3 times. The taste becomes milder, but the effect remains.
🌿 The effect according to TCM
Chrysanthemum (Ju Hua):
- Cools liver heat (red, itchy eyes!)
- Clears the head in case of pressure and drowsiness
- Expels wind-heat - THE allergy herb of TCM
Goji berries:
- Nourish liver and kidney yin
- Moisturize dry, irritated eyes
- Strengthens the base, while chrysanthemum cools
The synergy: Chrysanthemum alone would be too cooling. Goji berries balance - they nourish what the cooling consumes. Together: cooling without depleting.
When to drink?
- Preventive: 1-2 cups daily during the pollen season
- Acute: If symptoms occur, take a cup immediately, repeat if necessary
- Best time: In the morning and afternoon (not late in the evening - slightly diuretic)
👆 The acupressure points: Instant help in 3 minutes
These five points provide immediate relief. All you need is your fingers - or for even more precise pressure, our AkuPen.
🔵 For a blocked nose:
Tue 20 (Yíng Xiāng) - „Welcome fragrance“
Location: Right next to the wings of the nose, in the crease
This is how it works: Massage small circles simultaneously with both index fingers or the AkuPen. 60-90 seconds. Be careful with AkuPen: Apply only gently and without pressure to the face - the tip is sensitive close to the eyes and mucous membranes.
Effect: Opens the nose immediately! THE main point for colds and blocked noses. The effect starts within minutes.
Yintang - „Seal Hall“ (Third Eye)
Location: Exactly between the eyebrows
This is how it works: Press gently with your thumb, middle finger or AkuPen and make small circles. 60 seconds. (Only use the AkuPen gently on the face).
Effect: Clears the sinuses, relieves head pressure, calms the mind.
🔵 For itchy, watery eyes:
Bl 02 (Zàn Zhú) - „folded bamboo“
Location: At the inner end of the eyebrow, in the small indentation
This is how it works: Press gently with both thumbs at the same time. Do not rub - just apply pressure. 60 seconds.
Effect: Soothes itchy eyes, stops lacrimation, clears vision.
🔵 The master point for everything above the neck:
Tue 04 (Hé Gŭ) - „United Valleys“
Location: Back of the hand, in the muscle between the thumb and index finger
This is how it works: Press the point firmly with the thumb and index finger of the other hand or the AkuPen. 60-90 seconds per hand.
Effect: The „master point“ for the head and face. Helps with EVERYTHING above the shoulders.
Important: Do not use during pregnancy.
🔵 Strengthen the protective shield:
Lu 07 (Liè Quē) - „Interrupted Series“
Location: Inside of the forearm, about 2 fingers wide above the wrist crease
This is how it works: Press with the thumb of the other hand or the AkuPen and make small circles. 60 seconds per side.
Effect: The master point of the lungs! Strengthens the lung qi and thus the wei qi.
The 3-minute routine:
If you have little time - this order:
- LI 04 (both hands) - 30 seconds per side
- LI 20 (both sides simultaneously) - 60 sec.
- Yintang - 30 sec.
Done. Three minutes. Feasible everywhere.

🔬 What science says
Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium): Studies show anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. The flavonoids luteolin and apigenin inhibit the release of histamine from mast cells - exactly what allergy medication does.
Acupressure for allergies: A meta-analysis from 2015 showed significant
Improvements in allergy symptoms through acupressure. Di 04 and Di 20 in particular showed measurable effects on blocked noses.
Eye compresses: The cold reduces blood circulation and thus swelling and itching. The flavonoids in chrysanthemum reinforce the effect by locally inhibiting inflammation.
✓ Practical tips
✓ Get chrysanthemums: In Asian markets, TCM pharmacies or online. Pay attention to food quality!
✓ Regional honey: Contains local pollen in micro quantities - gentle
„Desensitization“.
✓ Timing: Morning ritual BEFORE you go out. Evening routine AFTER you are inside.
✓ Pollen weddings: Highest exposure in the morning (6-10 a.m.) and evening (4-8 p.m.). If possible, ventilate at midday.
✓ Glasses instead of contact lenses: During the pollen season, glasses provide additional eye protection.
