Autumn time & the quiet wisdom of TCM

What the metal element wants to teach you

Autumn does not overwhelm. It reduces. It airs. It clarifies.
What the summer has covered up becomes visible in the fall:
What remains when everything falls away? Nature retreats.
Not out of weakness - but out of wisdom.

Like the tree gives up its leaves - you too give up what wants to go.

Like the tree gives up its leaves - you too give up what wants to go.

🪙 Metal element & fall time

In TCM the Fall of the metal element assigned.

It stands for:

  • Structure, reduction, clarity
  • Boundaries & dignity
  • Recognize the essentials

Autumn invites you to listen within again.
No longer to want, but to understand.
No longer to collect, but to check:

What is still real? What can become silent?

⚖️ Metal in balance shows itself as:

  • Ability to make decisions
  • Inner order & structure in everyday life
  • Healthy demarcation from external stimuli
  • A sense for the essentials
  • Dignity in silence

🌿 What strengthens your metal in fall?

  • Teas with marshmallow, licorice or lime blossom
→ protects the lungs from dryness & internal constriction

🍲 5. fall cuisine:

  • Warm, cooked dishes with root vegetables, millet, miso soup
  • avoid: Raw food, cold dairy products, sugar
→ nourishes the center & protects against inner cold

🌲 5th clarity walk
Go slowly, in silence. Ask yourself:
What is essential? What can say goodbye? What wants to stay?

Wow! Beautifully written (as always with you) and very, very valuable in terms of content! Thank you so much!!! ( to be honest I found your newsletter by chance in the spam filter of my I-phone ! Oh no! How many might I have missed already?! Are you thinking about publishing your 12 newsletters as a little booklet? I would buy it immediately and read it comfortably in paper form! Best wishes from Andrea

      Dear Andrea,
wow, thank you so much for your wonderful words - that makes us so happy! 🙏

And now the good news: you haven't missed a single newsletter! This was our very first TCM newsletter ever.
So you've been there from the start - perfect timing despite the spam filter! 😊
(Maybe you can add us as a sender to your contacts, then the next one will surely end up in the right mailbox).

And about your book idea: it's actually on the table! When we have 12 issues together, a small annual booklet would be really wonderful.
Thanks for confirming that this is what we want - we'll take it! 📖

Best wishes to Japan and see you in the next newsletter!
