Why do you feel so restless - even though nothing is happening?

The hidden power behind your impatience

You can feel it. Somewhere deep inside you.
A restlessness that has no destination. An urge that knows no name.
The feeling that something has to change - but you don't know what.
You're tired of winter.
But you're also tired of waiting.

The days are getting longer. The light is returning.
And something inside you stretches out - like a plant that has sensed that spring is coming. But: it's not ready yet. Winter hasn't let go yet. The cold is holding on. And you?

You are stuck in between. Between what was - and what is to come. Between rest and new beginnings. Between seed and sprout.
Welcome to the tension before the awakening.

What is growing inside you while you think you are standing still?

What is growing inside you while you think you are standing still?

🌳 The wood element - the power of new beginnings

In TCM, the time of the Wooden elements. The time of the liver. The gallbladder. The spring.

The wood element stands for:

  • Growth - the force that pushes upwards
  • Vision - the ability to look ahead
  • Planning - Setting and pursuing goals
  • Decision - the courage to choose a path
  • Creativity- Create something new
  • Flexibility - bend without breaking

The liver is the General - it has the vision, the plan. The gallbladder is the Consultant - It gives you the courage to make a decision.

Together they are the power of awakening. The energy that brings you out of hibernation. The power that makes new things possible.

But: This power needs Room.

☯️ The tension of the transition

Late February is a critical time.

The water element (winter, kidney) has done its work - retreat, collection, depth. The wooden element (spring, liver) wants to take over - departure, movement, expression.

But the transition is not smooth. It is a Tension.

Like a tree whose sap is rising - but whose buds are still closed. Like an arrow lying on its string - but not yet flying. Like you - ready for the new, but still trapped in the old.

This tension is evident:

  • Impatience that comes out of nowhere
  • The feeling that everything is going too slowly
  • Restlessness - you want to do something but don't know what
  • Mood swings between euphoria and frustration
  • Dreams that get bigger - but have no bottom yet
  • The feeling of being on the verge of something big

This is not unrest. It is Vitality, that wants to awaken.

🧠 The western bridge: Biology of spring

Science confirms the transition:

Light and hormones: As the days get longer, melatonin decreases and serotonin increases. The body switches from „hibernation“ to „activity“. But this takes time - and this switch creates tension.

Circadian rhythms: The internal clock adapts to the new light conditions. This takes energy and can temporarily cause tiredness AND restlessness at the same time.

Spring fatigue: The body adjusts - blood vessels dilate, blood pressure fluctuates, the metabolism speeds up. This often feels like exhaustion with restlessness.

Testosterone and estrogen: Both rise in spring. This explains the increased drive - but also the emotional intensity.

Two worlds. One realization: The transition is real. Physically and energetically.

🌿 The 5 pillars for the transition

1. the morning belongs to the liver

Liver time is between 1 and 3 a.m. - but you use its energy in the morning.

Practical:

  • Get up earlier than in winter (with the light)
  • Stretch and stretch in the morning - open up your body
  • The first hour without a screen, without news, without input -
  • Instead: Movement, silence, or creative work

📣 Insider tip: Qi Gong exercise Liver Stretch. This exercise brings your Wood element into balance, by stretching the liver meridian on the inside of the leg and thus balancing it.

2. the energy compass - clarity through honest questions

The liver wants direction. But you don't find direction by wishing - but by asking honest questions.

Practical - 4 questions:

  1. What have I been putting off for weeks? → Liver qi is stuck there
  2. What do I look forward to in the morning? → Something wants to grow
  3. Which people make me feel alive? → Your wood needs them
  4. Which people make me feel small? → Your wood suffocates there

Then - choose ONE concrete action:

Look at your answers. Choose ONE small action for this week:

  • Are you putting off a conversation? → Have one this week.
  • Are you putting off exercise? → Go for a 15-minute walk in the morning.
  • Does a person give you energy? → Meet or call this week.
  • Is someone belittling you? → Cancel or cut short a meeting.
  • Are you looking forward to something? → Schedule time for it this week.

Write down your one action - with the day and time. Not at some point. Concretely.

📣 Insider tip: Put the note where you see it every day - fridge, mirror, desk. This will keep the decision alive.

When: Once this week, preferably now

Why: The liver doesn't need dreams. It needs decisions - and small actions. Clarity does not come from thinking, but from acting.

The seed doesn't need a deadline. It needs soil, water and time.

4. eat green - the color of the liver

The color of the wood element is green. Now is the time for fresh, up-and-coming green.

Practical:

  • Sprouts, seedlings (the energy of new beginnings!)
  • Fresh herbs: parsley, chives, coriander
  • Leafy vegetables: spinach, chard, rocket
  • Dandelion (THE liverwort)
  • Less heavy, less cooked than in winter

But: the transition needs balance.

  • Eat warm in the morning (protects the center)
  • More fresh greenery at lunchtime and in the evening
  • Don't go raw immediately - the body is still in transition

5. practicing patience - the hardest exercise

The liver is impatient. It wants NOW. IMMEDIATELY. GO.

But spring will come when it comes. Not earlier. Not later.

Practical:

  • Recognize impatience when it arises
  • Breathe. Say to yourself: „It is unfolding.“
  • Trust the timing - not your insistence
  • Take small steps instead of big leaps

The bamboo grows underground - for years. And then it shoots up in weeks. You can't always see what's being prepared.

💫 The deeper message

You are standing at a transition.
The old has carried you. The new is calling.

But the transition is not the moment of jumping.
It is the moment of collecting.
The moment when you feel where the journey is going.

Spring doesn't come because you call it.
He comes because he has to.
And he will take you with him - when you are ready.

Being ready does not mean knowing everything.
Being ready means being open.

For what wants to grow.
For what you don't know yet.
For what is greater than your plans.

The tension you feel?
This is not a malfunction. It is Vitality.

She doesn't want to leave.
She wants out.

Give her space.
Give her time.
Give her confidence.

Spring is coming.
And you - you are ready.

„The wise man plants in winter. He harvests in the fall. In between - he trusts.“
