When closeness scares you - and you still long for connection

TCM rituals for your heart when closeness is both longing and fear

🌿 Do you know the feeling when an emotion becomes so strong?
that it threatens to overwhelm you? When anger boils up inside you, sadness paralyzes you or worries run like an endless movie in your head? In traditional Chinese medicine, emotions are neither good nor bad - they are energies that want to flow through you. If they come to a standstill, blockages arise that can affect your health.

You are enough. Now. right here.

You are enough. Now. right here.

🌿 What TCM says about this:

If the heart (fire) is too wide open and the protection of the pericardium is missing, we feel defenceless.
Vulnerable.
Our Shen trembles - and we lose contact with ourselves.
But there is a way to feel closeness without losing yourself.
A connection that remains gentle and secure.

✨ 3 small rituals that protect you - and open you up

For closeness that feels good.
For solidarity that can stay.

🌿 1. HK 06 - your protective point for the heart

You will find HK 06 (cardiovascular system 6) on the inside of your forearm, about two fingers wide above the wrist crease. Gently place your thumb on it.
Breathe in - and as you breathe out, imagine how a warm protective cover surrounds your heart.

This point is like a gate: it protects your heart, but does not lock it in.

🌸 2nd Qi Gong exercise "Parting the clouds" - create space, open your heart

Stand up straight, your feet firmly rooted.
Gently move both hands upwards as if you were holding a cloud.
Then slowly open them to the right and left - as if you were parting the clouds to allow light to flow through.
This movement creates space around you.
Space for you.
Room for connection.

🌱 3rd guided meditation: "Everything can be as it is"

Make yourself comfortable.
Breathe in deeply... and out.
This meditation invites you to simply be - with everything that is there right now.
The longing. The restlessness. The hope.
Nothing has to be different.
And it is precisely there, in this allowing, that peace arises.

✨ When you no longer have to push anything away, it becomes easier to feel connection - to yourself and to others.

🌿 Conclusion

True closeness does not arise when you have to protect yourself - but when you allow yourself to be. Just like this. Now. Here.

True closeness begins when you can hold yourself.
