Chinese herbal mixture W09 (Yu Ping Feng San, modified) according to Dr. med. Georg Weidinger.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, your immune system is not simply your „immune system." It is your Wei-Qi — a protective energy shield that envelops your body like an invisible cloak. When this protective shield is weak, every cold wind and every pathogen can easily penetrate it.

W09 is the classic protective formula of TCM — proven for over 800 years.

W09 IS IDEAL FOR YOU IF:
If even one of these signs applies to you...

  • You catch every infection that's going around.

  • You sweat during the day without exertion (spontaneous sweating).

  • You feel the cold easily and are sensitive to wind and drafts.

  • Your energy won't last until the evening

  • You have poor digestion with mushy stools.

  • You recover slowly after illnesses.

  • You want to strengthen your immune system BEFORE the cold season

  • You often have headaches when the weather changes or when it is windy.

Background information

TCM background information

Weak - powerless cough

Therapy: strengthen the lung qi

Lu9 - tones (strengthens the lungs)

Lu7 - tones and promotes the lowering function of the lungs

Kg6 - generally strengthens the Qi of the body

Ma36 - strengthens the stomach and spleen and thus digestion. Strong digestion is the basis for healthy lungs

Application: 2-3 times a day

The Lung is responsible for our breathing and for the absorption of energy (Qi). Is that Lungs Qi weakened, it comes to Shortness of breathespecially under load. This is generally the Characteristics of Qi Deficiency. When a discomfort gets worse with exercise, it means that the body can no longer compensate for the extra energy lost through exercise. As a result, the discomfort worsens.

The Shortness of breath but is in this case weak and not as strong as with asthma. It occurs, as I said, only under load.

It is also typical that with Load relatively quickly into the Sweating comes because the lungs also regulate the skin and thus the opening and closing of the pores. Consequently, when lung qi is weak, the pores cannot close sufficiently and one easily loses body fluid in the form of sweat. This happens even with little exertion.

Generally, the lungs send the Qi down. In case of weakness, this lowering is disturbed and coughing occurs. The accumulation of watery sputum, comes from the fact that also the "regulation of the waterways", which is one of the tasks of the lungs, is no longer properly executed. Thus, the accumulation of watery secretion occurs.

The trigger for such a lack of lung qi is often digestion. I.e. due to a weakness in the digestive organs spleen and stomach, not enough energy (Qi) can be formed. Since in the 5 elements cycle the lung follows the spleen, according to the mother-child rule, the lung qi is also weak.

But shallow breathing also plays a decisive role here. This in turn is very much promoted by a bent, seated posture, as is already the case with schoolchildren. But also predominantly sedentary occupations are affected. Of course, smoking is also bad for the development of lung energy, as is the fine dust pollution that prevails in many cities.

Symptoms:

  • no or very little sputum
  • chronic cough, even without a cold
  • Cough for physical exertion
  • pale face
  • soft voice
  • easily exhausted and tired
  • Susceptibility to infections
  • Tendency to allergies such as house dust, pollen or animal hair
Acupen

Lu 09 "Great Abyss"- Taiyuan

Tonifies Qi and Yin of the lungs

- Location:

On the wrist crease in a depression next to the tendon of the pollicis longus muscle.

- Helps with:

cough, respiratory problems, wrist problems, chronic lung problems, immune system strengthening, mucus dissolving, weak blood circulation

Comment:

This point is used in TCM to tonify the lung qi, but also the thorax qi. This is the Qi of the heart and lungs. If someone has cold hands and a weak voice, one recognizes the weakness of this Qi and can then strengthen it again with the two points Lu09 and KG17.

Since at the pulse palpation point is also seen as the confluence point of all blood vessels, the point Lu09 has a special effect on all blood vessels and is therefore called the master point of blood vessels.

Lu 07 "Interrupted sequence"- Lieque

Extraordinarily important lung point in TCM

- Location:

On the spoke, 2 transverse fingers above the flexion fold

- Helps with:

Shoulder pain, shortness of breath, breathing problems, asthma, bronchitis, neck headache, bladder problems, stuffy nose.

Comment:

This point is used in TCM for the elimination of pathogenic factors used, like Wind-cold or wind-heat. The point distributes the lung qi and lowers it.

The point is used especially in the early stages of a cold, as it opens the pores of the skin, facilitating sweating. This allows the pathogenic factor, whether cold or heat, to be expelled. The symptoms in the stage are, sneezing, stiff neck, headache and a general aversion to cold.

In that case, the Lu07 point is shared with the Di04 point.

The nose is the sensory organ of the lungs and therefore this point is often used for blocked or running nose. In this case, always together with the Di20 point.

Lu07 is an extremely effective point with an effect on the face and skull. Therefore, it can be combined with other points if the problem is in that area. It will direct the effect exactly there.

Also on the psychological level, the point can do a lot of good. Especially it works with worry, sorrow or sadness. The activation of Lu07 can make quietly suffering people cry, which has a healing effect.

KG 4 "Gate of origin qi" - Guanyuan

Alarm point of the small intestine

- Location:

4 transverse fingers (3 cun) below the navel

- Helps with:

Diarrhea, problems urinating, period disorders, premenstrual syndrome, infertility, impotence, lack of strength.

Comment:

This is the most powerful point to tonify Qi and blood and strengthen body and soul. It strengthens the kidney and thus the original Qi. Thus, it is an important point to increase overall vitality and in chronic diseases.

KG 4 has a grounding effect on the spirit of man, in that it offers us a center in which we can gather and come to rest.

KG 5 "Stone Gate" - Shimen

Alarm point of the triple burner

- Location:

3 transverse fingers (2 cun) below the navel

- Helps with:

Diarrhea, problems urinating, period disorders, premenstrual syndrome, infertility, impotence, lack of strength.

Comment:

The effect of points KG 4,5,6 are similar and therefore we have combined them.

If we take a closer look at the KG 5 point, it has a special effect on the 3fold warmer. It also strengthens, like KG 4, the origin Qi. However, more by the fact that he better coordinates the "3 combustion chambers of the body".

The task of the triple burner is to regulate the absorption, transformation and elimination in the body. The better this works, the more vital the entire body.

KG 6 "Sea of Qi" - Qihai

Strengthening point of the body - the sea of energy!

- Location:

2 transverse fingers (1.5 cun) below the navel

- Helps with:

Diarrhea, problems with urination, period disorders, premenstrual syndrome, infertility, impotence, lack of strength, physical and mental exhaustion.

Comment:

The effect of the points overlap and yet can be very differentiated. While KG 6 strengthens more the Qi, KG 4 strengthens more the blood. This is explained by the fact that KG 4 acts on the small intestine, which is involved in blood production.

Furthermore, KG 6 moves qi, while KG 4 has no qi moving influence, although both strengthen qi.

KG 6 affects all abdominal organs, while KG 4 has more of an effect on the uterus.

KG 6 additionally strengthens the spleen, while KG 4 strengthens the kidneys.

St 36 "Three miles of the foot" - Zusanli

Most important point of the stomach meridian to strengthen digestion

- Location:

4 transverse fingers (3 cun) below the lower edge of the patella (knee cap) on the tibialis muscle

- Helps with:

indigestion, bloating, constipation, stomach pain, fatigue, headache, loss of appetite, blurred vision

Comment:

This point is a prominent point in TCM because it strengthens the post-heaven qi. What is meant by this is that it strengthens the stomach and spleen, those organs that are responsible for our energy intake through food.

Ma36 is a general toning point for the whole body, but also for the psyche, and is used for all symptoms of fatigue, tiredness and weakness.

Together with MP06, Le03 and Di04, it is one of the most famous and frequently used points in Chinese medicine.

Qi Gong

The word Qi Gong consists of 2 syllables - Qi and Gong. The Chinese term "Qi" can be translated for us most likely by "life energy". But it contains more than this. It also means breath and air. In Chinese medicine, Qi is considered to be the invigorating force that flows through all living things. However, Qi is not only inside the body of a living being, but also outside. Qi also shows itself to us in nature. Thus animals, flowers and trees are flowed through by Qi. Qi is the living force that is inherent in everything and that makes life possible.

The Japanese call this force "Ki". In India it is called "Prana". It always means the same thing - the power and energy that is inherent in everything and keeps us alive. In Chinese medicine, health is only possible when the Qi in our body is pure, not polluted and can flow freely.

Due to bad living habits, in the course of time, energy blockages can occur in the body system and as a result, diseases can manifest, which can be physical or psychological in nature. Generally speaking, we can say that a living person has Qi throughout the body.

The word "gong means roughly "body work" or "success through perseverance and practice". Therefore Qi Gong is called "Work with the life energy". We learn to improve the flow and distribution of Qi in our body through movement and concentration to strengthen our health and bring body and mind into harmony. At the same time we learn to stand correctly, between heaven and earth. This significantly improves posture and many aches and pains disappear on their own.

Qi Gong is a holistic healing system with a long tradition, which has been continuously developed until today. It includes health-promoting postures, movement, self-massage, breathing techniques and meditation. Through these various exercise methods, Qi is supposed to be collected and stored in the body, like in a reservoir. The goal is to expel the impure Qi and absorb fresh pure Qi.

Qi Gong is not a medicine that is prescribed for a limited time, but rather it should be practiced daily. In this regard, 20 minutes of daily practice is enough to improve health and one's well-being to a great extent.

Anyone can practice qigong. There are exercises for every age and every state of health. The exercises can be practiced standing, sitting, lying down or walking. So even physically challenged people can easily practice Qi Gong and improve your health in a sustainable way.

Chinese herbs

The herbal therapy is called "the queen of TCM" in traditional Chinese medicine. This underlines its high status. Herbs form an important foundation of TCM and have a profound effect on the human organism. They can replenish deficiencies, expel states of fullness, warm or cool the body. They are generally referred to as herbs. Nevertheless, minerals are also used in the recipes.

Herbs are usually prescribed after a thorough diagnosis by a doctor. In this diagnosis, in addition to a conversation, attention is paid to the pulse, tongue and overall appearance of the person. Nevertheless, there are herbal mixtures that have proven themselves over the centuries for various problems.

We have made suggestions for all clinical pictures for such proven recipes. Nevertheless, in many cases it may be necessary to consult a doctor or therapist. Based on the individual situation, this person can recognize how the energetic situation really is at the moment and, based on this, recommend the optimal herbal mixture. Of course we do not have this possibility, because we cannot meet you personally. Nevertheless, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we will try to help you as much as possible.

For many disease patterns there are 2-3 herbal suggestions. The first suggestion is always the one that from my experience is suitable for most people. However, if there is no reaction, then try the second mixture that is suggested to you.

However, herbal therapy needs some patience, because in most cases it works slowly and subtly. In return, there are no side effects and the effect is very long-lasting.
