Video: Our complete 5 elements Qi Gong sequence (approx. 30 minutes)
And this is exactly the time that I basically recommend to everyone who wants to solve a health problem by means of Qi Gong. In order to stimulate the self-healing powers of the body and to improve the flow of energy, 30 minutes a day is optimal and also necessary. Only in this way the Qi Gong effect is strong enough.
Here you can get to the individual contributions of our course:
The cycle of the 5 phases of change
Does anyone do qigong for preventive reasonsIf you want to practice Qi Gong, you can achieve good results even with 15 minutes of daily practice. Basically, it is better to do qigong 6 times 15 minutes than once 1.5 hours.
At this point, it is very important to me to show you a way to practice Qi Gong regularly and on a long-term basis. It is a fact that most people stop practicing after only a few days. And that is really a pity! Success with this method can only be achieved through regular and persistent practice. But then the results are lasting and often very convincing.
When I read the many comments on our YouTube Channel "Simply live better"I am pleased to see how many people practice regularly with our programs. And many of them have been doing it since the beginning, for several years. It is still a great joy for me to read that people become healthier and health problems disappear through Qi Gong. From complaints that have existed for many years, to back pain, to depression.
For me it is undisputed that Qi Gong has profound health effects on the human organism. However, exactly how this happens has not been researched to this day. There are many approaches to an explanation. The easiest one is to adhere to the view of TCM, according to which Qi Gong is the work with one's own life energy. Through breathing, one simply absorbs more vital energy through Qi Gong. It's as simple as that in Eastern terms!
Over the years, one thing has become apparent to me. In principle, the method works excellently, with regular practice. However, the Asian approach, according to which one should often practice qigong for several hours a day, is completely overwhelming for us Westerners. Also the moderate eastern Qi Gong teachers, who consider only 1-2 hours of daily practice to be sufficient, do not find much appeal with us.
I personally recommend 30 minutes of Qi Gong practice daily if physical problems are present.
But it has shown that even this period is often too daring. That is why I have created the "3 minutes method" developed for me and my clients. It is basically very simple. All you have to do, if you are seriously interested in Qi Gong, is to practice Qi Gong for 3 minutes a day. No more and no less! Either in the morning or in the evening. Or whenever you can integrate it into your daily routine.
In these three minutes you can, for example, do the warm-up program - and that's it. If you are still motivated after the three minutes, feel free to continue. The goal is to do at least 3 minutes a day. Then you're done again.
It's like running. Once you put on your running shoes and take the first few steps, it's easy. The hardest part is putting on the shoes and taking the first few steps.
It is the same with Qi Gong. Thirty minutes of quiet practice can seem quite exhausting, though in retrospect it usually isn't. We think it's difficult. And so we let our inner saboteur mess up our practice again.
Therefore, take only 3 minutes of training time and be happy when you have done it! Praise yourself for it and be proud of yourself! I am serious about this! The 3 minutes are not the problem. The problem lies in the task of doing these 3 minutes day after day.
As I said, start with the warm-up program. Or, for my sake, pick your personal favorite exercise from the Qi Gong series.
I can hear some Qi Gong teachers crying out again. First of all, it's much too short and secondly, you can't start with just any exercise. Yes, that is basically true. However, the 3 minutes are not the final goal. And also regarding the sequence, the form shown in the video can be developed in a few weeks.
For some, it's too much to ask to do the whole program from day one. For those who are confident and know they can do it, I recommend starting with the full 30 minutes a day. That is wonderful and I know there are people like that. Some people lose interest in qigong because they put themselves through too much at the beginning.
Time for Change - Now is the best time for a change
That's why I suggest the following approach:
In the first weeks you do 3 minutes of Qi Gong practice daily. As I said, in the morning, in the evening, or whenever it suits you. Then, in the second week, you resolve to do 6 minutes of qigong daily. And so you increase by 3 minutes from week to week. Take your smartphone and set a timer. This clarity will support you in your intention.
Your plan then looks like this, if you want to do something for your health preventively.
Week 1: 3 min. daily
Week 2: 6 min. daily
Week 3: 9 min. daily
Week 4: 12 min. daily
Week 5: 15 min. daily
If you want to control a health problem with Qi Gong, you simply continue to work in this rhythm for the next few weeks to get to the full 30 minutes.
Week 6: 18 min. daily
Week 7: 21 min. daily
Week 8: 24 min. daily
Week 9: 27 min. daily
Week 10: 30 min. daily
You see, this way you'll be at your goal after only 10 weeks, practicing the full 30 minutes.
From my 20 years of practice, I now know that time is completely irrelevant here. Even if you only manage to get to the 30 minutes in a year, I would be extremely happy and satisfied with you. Because the way there has consisted of many small steps. Small increments, which are immensely important for the learning process. Because repetition is the "be-all and end-all" in the Qi Gong.
The best and most amazing program is of no use to you if you don't manage to do it on a regular basis. This point is given far too little consideration in the Qi Gong scene, but also in Yoga or Pilates. We have a strong inner pig dog, which basically does not want any change. If you suddenly start doing a new exercise sequence for 30 minutes a day, that may be great on the first day. But already on the second day you think of 1000 reasons why you don't have time today.
And that's it with the training. And after weeks you realize that you actually wanted to do Qi Gong. Now you start again with the same method and probably fail again. This, of course, increases your frustration, and you end up telling yourself that it's just not for you.
Taking small steps to develop a new habit is essential.
Another important point to consider at this point is linking a new habit to an old one. In terms of qigong, this means that you link your morning qigong practice with your morning coffee, tea or breakfast. So you do 3 minutes of qigong and then reward yourself with coffee, tea or your breakfast. In week two, you do 6 minutes and look forward to the reward even more. Without Qi Gong, on the other hand, there is no breakfast. Unless you decide to take a break 1-2 days a week.
If you are interested in the topic of developing habits, I can recommend the following book by James Clear: "The 1% method-Minimal change, maximum impact." In it, James Clear describes the concept of "microhabits" as applied to all areas of life. It is really an exciting and worthwhile book.
Finally, I would like to wish you much joy with our 5 Elements Qi Gong Course wish. You now know all the exercises and have the opportunity to take your health into your own hands. A few minutes a day can make a big difference in your life. Be worth so much to yourself and give yourself this daily time out to regenerate. We can all use it right now!
I am happy if you also share this knowledge with others and thereby also help them to a healthy and happy life.
Sincerely,
Wolfgang

A wonderful Qi Gong class, very well explained and demonstrated. Many thanks
Hello Renate. Thank you very much for your nice feedback! Kind regards Wolfgang
Dear Wolfgang, I especially love your 32 minute video that I do 1x a day. Normally I had booked a Qigong course from the gymnastics club, which was practiced outside all year. For known reasons I had to look for alternatives and I find them in your videos. Thank you for the beautiful exercises and accurate explanations! M
I have already "infected" my sister and three friends who did not know Qigong before. I have been practicing Qigong for about 15 years, but only in courses. Now I finally -through you- came to daily practicing. THANK YOU very much for this. Jutta from the North Sea coast
Hello Jutta. Thank you very much for your nice message and your Qi Gong enthusiasm. That you infect others with it is just great. I was on the North Sea coast 2 years ago and did Qi Gong there as well. That was
a brilliant experience. Really a great energy! I look forward to you continuing to practice with us. All love Wolfgang
Hello Renate. Thank you very much for your comment! Kind regards Wolfgang
Hello within the week it is difficult in rest Qi Gong Maybe 20 minutes because I am much outside and with my pony time in nature spend it in winter difficult in the middle of the week to take the time for Qi Gong.
Nevertheless, there are days on the weekend or when it is warm outside I reach 30 to 35 minutes. Before each changing exercise, I include a Qi energy warm-up exercise to get charged up for the new exercise.
When I'm on the road I limit it to 20 minutes or less it's otherwise unrealistic when the day is scheduled you do not have so much time because I prefer to take a nap is even almost like a meditation.
I do not change immediately to the next exercise and use the arms up and down movement where you feel the force strongly and can calm down, which is then the pause until the change of exercises.
Hello Thomas. That sounds very good. Adapt the Qi Gong to your life situation. This is very important to stay with it in the long run. I wish you a lot of creativity with your Qi Gong practice! Kind regards Wolfgang
Thank you for the beautiful exercises.
A super day program.
Hello Monika. I am very happy to hear from you! Have fun with Qi Gong! Kind regards Wolfgang
